“Explore the Andaman ecosystem, visit the sea turtle nursery and rehabilitation center, and enjoy marine conservation exhibitions managed by the Royal Thai Navy.”

The Chulabhorn Marine Park Conservation Center was established under the royal initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana to serve as a key center for marine conservation, particularly coral reefs and rare marine species in the Andaman Sea. The facility includes nursery and rehabilitation ponds for several species of sea turtles, such as Green turtles, Olive Ridley turtles, and Hawksbill turtles. Most of these turtles are rescued after being injured by fishing gear or environmental threats. They are carefully treated and rehabilitated until they are strong enough to be released back into the sea.

The center also features an exhibition building that provides in-depth knowledge about marine ecosystems in the Andaman region, including information about important marine national parks such as the Similan Islands and Surin Islands. Visitors can gain a better understanding of marine biodiversity and the importance of conservation, as well as the role of various organizations in protecting these natural resources.

Set within the well-maintained grounds of a naval base, the center offers a clean, peaceful, and organized environment. Visitors can walk around the turtle ponds, observe the animals at close range, and read informative displays placed throughout the area. It is suitable for all types of visitors, including families, students, and eco-tourists.

At certain times, the center organizes sea turtle release activities, allowing visitors to participate in conservation efforts and experience a meaningful connection with nature.

With its combined role in conservation and education, the center stands out as one of the most valuable eco-tourism destinations in Phang Nga and is well worth a visit.
