Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park, Phichit, is more than a public park—it is an important green space that reflects the close relationship between the local community, the city, and the natural environment of Bueng Si Fai.

Background and Significance:

The park was established to honor Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani (The Princess Mother) on the occasion of her 80th birthday anniversary. The project was developed in 1983 through a collaboration between Phichit Province and the Department of Non-Formal Education. The park covers an area of approximately 170 rai, consisting of 120 rai of land and 50 rai of water, and is situated directly along the shoreline of Bueng Si Fai, a vital ecological and cultural landmark of the city.

Landscape and Spatial Design:

The park is thoughtfully designed to harmonize with the surrounding wetland environment. A wooden bridge extends over the water, leading to a large lakeside pavilion that serves as a peaceful resting and viewing point. The lakeside area is landscaped with mature shade trees, colorful seasonal flowers, and well-maintained gardens. Walking paths and cycling routes circle the park, offering scenic views throughout the day.

By Car:

• From Phichit city center, take Bueng Si Fai Road heading west for approximately 1–2 kilometers. The park is located beside the lake and offers spacious parking areas.

Local Transport:

• Tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis are readily available from Phichit Railway Station or the bus terminal, providing quick and affordable access to the park.

• Golden Hour: Arrive around 4:30 PM to enjoy a leisurely walk and stay until sunset around 6:00 PM, when the lake is bathed in golden light.

• Nearby Attractions: After visiting the park, you can easily walk or cycle to the Giant Phraya Chalawan Crocodile Statue and the Chalerm Phrakiat Aquarium, both located within the same area.

• Preparation: Late afternoons can still be sunny, so bringing sunglasses or an umbrella is recommended. As the sun lowers, cool breezes from the lake create a very pleasant atmosphere.
