Kaeng Song Waterfall is one of the most popular stopovers along Highway 12, also known as Thailand’s scenic romantic route. Formed by the Khek River flowing over a broad sandstone cliff, the water cascades down in layers, creating a powerful and visually stunning natural curtain surrounded by lush greenery.

One of its key identities is being a true “riverside relaxation paradise.” Visitors can sit on bamboo platforms by the water, enjoy local Thai dishes, and listen to the calming sound of flowing water. During the cool and dry seasons, the water is clearer and gentler, making it ideal for swimming and tubing.

In contrast, the rainy season (August–October) transforms the river into a fast-flowing and powerful stream, attracting adventure seekers for white-water rafting along the Khek River, known for its exciting and challenging rapids.

Another highlight is the suspension bridge crossing the river, connecting the roadside to a village on the opposite bank. This spot offers a panoramic viewpoint, making it a favorite location for photography.

• By Car: From Phitsanulok city, take Highway No. 12 toward Lom Sak for approximately 45 km. The waterfall is located on the right-hand side along the main road.

• Best time to visit: November – February for clear water and pleasant weather
