Mae Ping Karen Village is located in Pai District, Mae Hong Son Province. It is a village of the Pga K'nyau (or Karen) hill tribe, well-known for its long-standing preservation of local culture and wisdom.

The village has collaborated with the government to establish the Mae Ping Karen Village Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Center to promote and develop supplementary occupations for the villagers. This is especially true for their hand-woven fabric handicrafts, which feature unique patterns and colors derived from wisdom passed down through generations. Visitors to the village can experience the simple lifestyle of the villagers and purchase high-quality woven products as souvenirs.

Additionally, children in the village often wear traditional tribal attire and offer a friendly welcome to tourists, giving visitors a chance to learn about and experience this beautiful culture up close.

• Mae Ping Karen Village is located approximately 10 kilometers north of Pai town.

• You can get there by taking Highway 1095 (Pai-Mae Malai route).

• From Pai town, drive along Highway 1095 towards Mae Malai. At the 86-kilometer marker, turn left onto a village road. Continue for about 3 more kilometers to reach the village.

• Admission Fee: There is no charge to visit the village. However, if you wish to take photos with the villagers or children, you can make a donation to support their education.

• Best Time to Visit: You can visit all year round, but the village is especially popular during the winter season.

• Dress Code: As you are visiting a community, it is recommended to dress respectfully to honor the villagers and their local culture.
