Bok Krai Waterfall is one of the most ecologically rich waterfalls in Ranong Province, located within the Thung Raya–Na Sak Wildlife Sanctuary. This area is part of the Andaman-side tropical rainforest, which experiences heavy rainfall  year-round. As a result, the waterfall maintains a continuous flow even during the dry season—making it stand out among many other waterfalls in southern Thailand.

The waterfall is classified as a multi-tier waterfall, with cascades descending along layers of limestone and granite. Each tier varies in height_ and water flow, offering different scenic experiences—from the lower levels where visitors can relax and enjoy the water, to the upper levels where the flow becomes stronger and more dramatic. The final tier is the highlight, featuring a tall cliff where water plunges down like a white curtain, beautifully contrasting with the surrounding lush greenery.

The surrounding ecosystem is a dense tropical rainforest with high biodiversity. The area is home to large trees, ferns, mosses, and numerous epiphytic plants, as well as small wildlife and a variety of bird species. The walking trail to the waterfall is 300 meters long, designed as a short nature study route that still preserves a strong sense of wilderness. Along the way, visitors can fully experience the humidity, earthy scents, and natural sounds of the forest.

In terms of visitor experience, Bok Krai Waterfall is ideal for nature lovers and those interested in light trekking. The trail is relatively easy but still offers a slight sense of adventure. Another key highlight is its peaceful atmosphere, as the area is not heavily crowded—making it perfect for those seeking tranquility and a true escape from busy urban life.

However, since the waterfall is located within a protected area, visitors are expected to strictly follow regulations. This includes not littering, avoiding loud noises, and being cautious on slippery rocks—especially during the rainy season when water levels are higher and currents are stronger.

How to Get There

• ฺBy Car: From Ranong town, take Highway No. 4 (Phetkasem Road) toward Kraburi District. Around kilometer markers 538–539, turn left toward Bok Krai Village. Continue for about 13 kilometers to the forest protection unit, then walk a short distance to reach the waterfall.
