“ King Naresuan Film Studio, Lat Ya Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province, covering an area of over 2,000 rai, offers various activities such as wearing historical costumes, horse riding, elephant riding, and ox-cart riding, as well as souvenir shops for tourists. ”

Prommitr Film Studio is located within Camp Surasi in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, and was built as a filming location for the epic Thai historical film “The Legend of King Naresuan,” which required highly realistic large-scale historical settings. The concept of the studio was to create a full-scale “mock historical city” instead of relying mainly on studio sets or computer-generated imagery. It was designed as two main zones representing the Ayutthaya side and the Hanthawaddy (Burmese) side, allowing it to support both battle scenes and royal court scenes within the same production area.Construction used wood, cement, and reinforced steel structures in certain parts, based on historical chronicles, mural paintings, and ancient architectural references to achieve maximum historical accuracy. The site included major set pieces such as a royal palace, city walls, an underground prison, royal halls, and an ancient village.

After filming was completed, the studio was opened to the public as a tourist attraction where visitors could tour the sets, take photographs, and wear traditional Thai costumes. However, after the land lease expired and maintenance was no longer continued, the structures gradually deteriorated over time.At present, the area is no longer officially open for tourism and exists in a semi-abandoned condition, with parts of the structures damaged or decayed. Nevertheless, it still attracts visitors who view it from the outside to study the remnants of this large-scale Thai film production site and to take historical-style photographs.Although the site is no longer in its original condition, King Naresuan Film Studio remains an important landmark in Thai film history and is regarded as one of the most significant large-scale set constructions ever built in the country.
