“Admire the clear, emerald green pools, the unique non-slippery limestone waterfall curtain, and enjoy swimming in safe areas under the supervision of staff. ”
Mae Klong Waterfall is part of the waterfall system in the Mae Ko stream, which is on the same route as Ko Luang Waterfall. Many people often interchange them as the upper and lower levels of Ko Luang Waterfall. In fact, "Mae Klong Waterfall" is a specific location sought after by photographers and nature tourists because it has a unique and particularly outstanding emerald pool.
Limestone Waterfall Ecology
This waterfall is formed by water flowing through limestone layers, resulting in no mud or sediment. The water is clear and reflects an emerald green color throughout the year. The surface of the limestone is rougher than typical granite, making it less slippery, but be careful of moss clinging to the rocks in some spots.
Mahseer Fish and Natural Abundance
Within the emerald pool, you can often find a large number of "Mahseer fish" swimming together, which is an indicator of clean water quality and a thriving ecosystem. Surrounded by large trees and green moss covering the cliffs, it creates a fairytale-like atmosphere.
