“A waterfall hidden in the Mae Yon Wai valley, requiring a descent from the main trail, creating a tranquil atmosphere, and highlighted by cliffs covered in lush green moss and ferns.”

Tat Moei Waterfall is a small waterfall located within Doi Khun Tan National Park. It originates from a stream on the mountain ridge. The water cascades from a 20-meter high cliff into a pool below. The area around the waterfall is a dense evergreen forest, distinctly different from the pine forest near Y.2, resulting in high humidity and beautifully moss-covered cliffs.

Trail Dips into the Valley

The waterfall is located off the main trail on the left side, between Y.2 and Y.3. Tourists must descend into the Mae Yon Wai valley for about 300 meters (decreasing altitude), or a total distance of about 1.5 kilometers from the main trail, and then walk back up the same steep path. It's important to assess your leg strength and time accordingly.

Seasonal Charm

  • Rainy Season: The water flow is at its strongest, and the green moss is clearly visible.

  • Winter Season: The water is clear, the air is cool, although the water volume decreases.

Oasis for Hikers

Due to the path that requires descending and climbing back up, the waterfall is not crowded with tourists, maintaining its tranquility, cleanliness, and privacy, like a reward for those who are willing to take the effort to deviate from the main trail.
