Khun Phong Waterfall is one of the ultimate destinations for trekkers and adventurers visiting Phu Kradueng National Park. To reach it, visitors must first hike to the plateau known as “Lang Pae” (Wang Kwang Visitor Center). From there, the forest trail to the waterfall begins — a challenging path that features steep slopes, rocky terrain, and natural obstacles, providing an unforgettable hiking experience.

The waterfall lies within a moist evergreen forest on the western side of Phu Kradueng. Access is strictly controlled by park officials, and visitors are required to obtain special permission and be accompanied by a park ranger. The full trekking route can range from 14 to 23 kilometers round-trip, making it a full-day journey through pristine forest.

During the rainy season, the waterfall carries a powerful flow, but the trail is open to visitors only during the dry season (from late November to mid-June) for safety and conservation purposes. The best time to visit is in December, when red maple leaves (Acer calcaratum) blanket the rocks, creating a stunningly picturesque landscape unique to this area.

Along the way, hikers can rest at several scenic viewpoints offering panoramic forest and mountain views. The surrounding ecosystem is rich with flora and fauna, from towering trees and mossy boulders to rare bird species.
