“Admire the ancient brick fortress walls, old cannons, and views of the Chao Phraya River in a lush, shady park atmosphere, ideal for strolling and taking historical photographs”

Pom Phlaeng Faifa an inner fortress wall, with a ramp located at the center of the structure used for hauling cannons up to the southern section of the fort wall. This area is reinforced with compacted earth between the inner and outer walls. A cannon is positioned at the left corner of the wall, which is part of the original structure. At present, the Municipality of Phra Pradaeng has relocated additional historic cannons onto the rampart, with one cannon placed at the center and another at the right corner.Along the ramp, there are stairways on both sides leading up to the fortress wall. On the left and right sides of the fort walls, there are brick tunnels connected by internal walkways. The fort has three gates, with the main entrance located on the northwest side at the front of the fort. The gate arch is still in a complete and well-preserved condition.

Phlaeng Faifa Fort is located in Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province, next to a fresh market and near the Phra Pradaeng Police Station and Phlaeng Faifa Municipal School. Although parts of the fort remain intact, the Municipality of Phra Pradaeng has restored it into a public recreational park. The upper area of the fort displays several historic cannons, and the surrounding area is landscaped with shady trees, creating a pleasant environment for visitors. The fort was built in 1815 during the reign of King Rama II, on the right bank of the Chao Phraya River. Other forts constructed along this riverbank included Maha Sanghan Fort, Rahu Chon Fort, Phi Sat Sing Fort, and Wittayakhom Fort; however, only Phlaeng Faifa Fort remains today.

Inside the fort, there are ramparts with cannon positions and ramps used for dragging cannons up to the battlements. The fort features a double-layered wall structure with compacted earth in between to absorb cannon fire, making it a highly strong defensive structure in its time. Between the opposing river forts, chains supported by wooden logs were stretched across the river at intervals to block enemy ships from entering inland waterways. In 1893, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) ordered the restoration of Phlaeng Faifa Fort to bring it back into usable condition. Later in 1971, the Phra Pradaeng Municipality renovated the site into a public recreational area.

The main entrance is located on the northwest side and remains well preserved. There are stairways leading up to the gate structure on both inner sides. The fort has parallel left and right wall sections, with internal stairways leading up to the ramparts. On the right side, there is a stairway leading from the outer wall to the inner rampart, which extends southward with compacted earth between the outer and inner fort walls. On the left side, the inner wall is accessible but has no stairway leading to the upper level, while a stairway exists on the northern side but lacks a descending path.
