The Naval Museum is an important educational and historical learning center of the Royal Thai Navy. The museum was established to systematically collect, preserve, and present knowledge about the history of the Royal Thai Navy, covering its development from the age of sailing ships and traditional junks to modern naval vessels equipped with advanced technology. The content is designed to help visitors understand the continuous and chronological development of the navy.Upon entering the exhibition area, visitors will find an outdoor zone that displays large-scale military equipment such as historical cannons used in naval warfare, amphibious vehicles used in coastal operations, maritime reconnaissance aircraft used for patrol missions, as well as parts and components of warships and submarines. These exhibits allow visitors to clearly understand the scale and structure of naval weaponry and provide a broader picture of the Royal Thai Navy’s operational capabilities.

Next, the first exhibition building focuses on the detailed history and development of the Royal Thai Navy, beginning from its early formation when sailing ships and traditional junks were used for travel and warfare. It continues through the modernization period during the early Rattanakosin era, when Western-style warships were introduced, leading to the formal establishment of naval institutions. This section also highlights the Navy’s role in important national events, including maritime sovereignty protection and participation in various naval operations. In addition, it presents biographies of important naval officers who contributed to the development of the Royal Thai Navy, along with ancient navigation instruments such as compasses, nautical maps, distance-measuring tools, and other maritime navigation equipment that reflect technological advancement in different eras.The second exhibition building, which is considered the highlight of the museum, presents the beauty and significance of Thailand’s maritime culture and naval history in depth. It features large-scale ship models related to the royal barge procession ceremony, reflecting the elegance of Thailand’s long-standing water-based royal traditions. It also includes models of significant historical warships such as HTMS Phra Ruang, as well as early modern Thai naval vessels, demonstrating the evolution of shipbuilding technology in Thailand. Furthermore, this section showcases naval uniforms from different periods, rank insignias, and the development of military dress codes, reflecting the structure and discipline of the Royal Thai Navy.

Additionally, the museum includes exhibitions on important Thai naval battles such as the Battle of Ko Chang, which represents the courage and sacrifice of Thai naval personnel during the Franco-Thai War.
