Wat Phra That is located within the ancient city walls of Nakhon Chum. It is the second most important temple after Wat Phra Kaew, situated to the west. Wat Phra That lies in front of Wat Phra Kaew along the east–west axis of historic monuments. The temple is part of Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site together with Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai under the name “Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Historic Town.”
