“Traditional homemade egg noodles, soft, chewy, and fragrant with eggs. Special recipe roasted red pork and a clear, sweet, and mellow broth.”
Siang Egg Noodle (Siang Bamee), or simply "Siang" as it's known by the locals in Kamphaeng Phet, is a legendary and long-established noodle shop that has been serving customers for over 80 years. The business is now run by the second generation, who have maintained the original flavors and standards.
The shop is located in a shophouse with a simple, classic noodle shop atmosphere, creating a warm and friendly feeling. There's also a sister restaurant nearby called Bamee Chakungrao, run by relatives. Both restaurants use the same recipe, ensuring the same unique flavor in their noodles.
A key highlight is their freshly made, hand-kneaded egg noodles, made daily. They use a high proportion of fresh eggs, resulting in small, round, yellow noodles that are fragrant with eggs and have a unique bouncy and chewy texture, clearly different from commercial instant noodles. No preservatives are added.
A recommended dish is Dry Egg Noodles with Red Pork, which showcases the excellent noodles. Served with honey-roasted red pork made to a special recipe, the meat is tender, fragrant with grilling, and perfectly infused with flavor. Also, enjoy the generous pork wontons with thin wrappers and flavorful fillings, and the Tom Yum noodles with a well-rounded and flavorful broth.
Another interesting feature is the serving of side vegetables such as long beans and bean sprouts to eat with the noodles, similar to Sukhothai noodles, adding another dimension of flavor and enjoyment.
The broth here is a clear, light and refreshing soup, simmered from pork bones to achieve a naturally sweet and mellow flavor without the need for additional seasoning. It's suitable for both those who prefer mild flavors and those who like to add their own seasoning.
With its long-standing quality and deliciousness, Siang Egg Noodle has been guaranteed by the "Krua Khun Toi" program and has become one of the must-try noodle shops in Chakungrao. It's perfect for food-loving tourists who want to experience the authentic original taste.
