“An agro-tourism site featuring rare Thai buffalo breeds and intelligent buffalo shows amidst the atmosphere of a nostalgic village by the rice fields.”

Thai Buffalo Conservation Village, also known as “Ban Khwai,” is a cultural tourism destination dedicated to the conservation of native Thai buffalo breeds and the preservation of traditional agricultural lifestyles. Covering an area of more than 100 rai, the site features a recreated traditional farming village with rows of beautiful central Thai-style wooden houses, reflecting the long-standing bond between Thai people and buffaloes as loyal companions in rice farming.

The heart of the village lies in the buffalo performance shows, which highlight the intelligence and gentle nature of Thai buffaloes. Visitors can witness activities such as greeting audiences, responding to commands, and demonstrations of traditional rice farming methods. There are also zones showcasing albino buffaloes and rare buffalo breeds, allowing visitors to interact closely with them. In addition, buffalo riding through rice fields offers a unique and memorable experience rarely found in modern society.

The overall atmosphere is peaceful and filled with rural charm. The area is well-organized, featuring wooden bridges stretching across lush green rice fields, making it ideal for leisurely walks and enjoying fresh air. Visitors can learn about traditional farming tools and watch demonstrations of local handicrafts such as pottery making and palm-leaf hat weaving, which represent traditional folk wisdom passed down through generations.

For families with young children, students, and those interested in Thai culture, the Thai Buffalo Conservation Village serves as a large open-air classroom that combines education with enjoyment. Photo spots around the traditional houses and rice fields are beautiful in every season. The village also features a popular riverside café called “Kin Fan Du Fai,” where visitors can relax with a cup of coffee while watching buffaloes play in the water in a calm and friendly atmosphere.

The Thai Buffalo Conservation Village invites visitors to step back in time and reconnect with the roots of Thai culture while supporting the conservation of the nation’s symbolic animal. It is a destination that offers smiles, lasting memories, and a deeper appreciation of the value of Thailand’s traditional way of life.
