Phaeng Waterfall National Park (Phaeng Waterfall) is an important natural attraction of Koh Phangan. It was declared a National Park in 1977 and is part of Than Sadet-Koh Phangan National Park. It stands out with its steep granite cliffs where water flows down in many tiers, creating a lush rainforest ecosystem throughout the year.

The atmosphere inside is shady with small and large trees on both sides of the stream. As you walk along the nature trail, you will find 2-3 high waterfalls where the water flows and hits the rocks, scattering into white mist like cotton wool, creating a unique beauty.

The waterfall is divided into 2 main points:
“Phaeng Noi Waterfall” – Located near the entrance, easy to access, suitable for relaxing, swimming, and chilling
“Phaeng Yai Waterfall” – You have to walk deeper along the nature trail, suitable for adventurers who want to experience nature to the fullest.

The highlight is “Domesila Viewpoint” located at a height_ of approximately 330 meters above sea level. You can see Koh Phangan, the sea, and Koh Samui in a 360-degree panorama and it is one of the most beautiful sunset spots on the island.

For serious hikers, the trail can also be connected to “Khao Ra Peak” which is the highest point of Koh Phangan, adding to the challenge and opening up new perspectives of nature.

Although Koh Phangan is famous for its world-class parties, it offers another aspect of tranquility with the sound of flowing water, the sound of forest birds, and clean air, suitable for relaxing, picnicking, hiking, and taking nature photos.

In the past, during the rainy season, Phaeng Waterfall had so much water that it echoed throughout the island. Reflecting the greatness of nature that still charms to this day.

• Travel by car/motorcycle from Thong Sala Pier towards Ban Madua Wan (Chalok Lam route) for about 3–4 kilometers and you will find the intersection to the National Park. The paved road is easily accessible.

• We recommend walking up to the viewpoint during the morning (08:30 – 10:00 AM), the weather is not hot.

• You should wear non-slip shoes/sneakers for the nature trail.

• Bring drinking water and mosquito repellent as it is a humid forest area.

• If you want to see a beautiful waterfall, we recommend going during the after the rainy season (Nov – Jan).

• Allow 45–60 minutes to walk up to Domesila Viewpoint.
