There are also shops, bars, restaurants, medical clinics, banks, post office, etc. Thongsala is the centre of Songkran festival for both Thais and foreign tourists.

Many amenities are in place since all roads are connected directly to this area all going in/out is connected here. There is not much of a scene for backpackers or bungalow joints in the town itself but a few pubs have popped up and the signs advertising Premiership football and English breakfasts are visible enough on several sidestreets.
