“The Kittimongkol Pagoda enshrining sacred Buddha relics, panoramic views of ferry boats and islands in the Gulf of Thailand, the sacred body of Luang Pho Choi, and a beautifully designed Naga staircase leading to the hilltop pagoda.”

Wat Khao Suwan Pradit is located on a prominent hill in Don Sak District, about 1 km from the town center, with a paved road leading directly to the temple area. The surrounding landscape consists of gentle hills and natural forest, creating a peaceful and private atmosphere ideal for merit-making and relaxation. The temple was founded in 1982 (B.E. 2525) by Phra Khru Suwan Pradit Kan (Luang Pho Choi), a highly respected southern Thai monk known for his compassion and spiritual leadership. He led the construction of the temple, which has since become a spiritual center for the local community.

Sacred Architecture: The Kittimongkol Pagoda is a white, Thai-adapted bell-shaped stupa standing prominently atop the hill, visible from a distance when entering Don Sak. Inside, it enshrines sacred Buddha relics brought from Wat Phra Kiat in Hot District, Chiang Mai Province. The pagoda is surrounded by an elegant Naga staircase symbolizing the spiritual journey toward enlightenment and peace.

Scenic Panorama: From the hilltop, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Don Sak’s coastline, the Gulf of Thailand, nearby islands, and the busy ferry routes of Raja Ferry and Seatran Ferry. The sunrise and sunset views reflecting over the sea create a stunning visual experience, making it one of the most important viewpoints in Don Sak.

Spiritual Stop Before Island Travel: Due to its proximity to Don Sak Pier, the temple is a popular stop for travelers heading to Koh Samui or Koh Phangan. Visitors often come to pay respects to the sacred Buddha relics for good fortune before their journey while enjoying the tranquil sea views from above.

Atmosphere and Experience: The temple offers a calm and serene environment with shady trees and refreshing sea breezes throughout the day. Visitors can walk around the pagoda, take scenic photos, or pay respect to the preserved body of Luang Pho Choi, a highly revered monk among southern Thai devotees. It serves as both a tourist attraction and a spiritual sanctuary.
