“Ao Khung Kraben is a serene and beautiful learning center inspired by the royal initiative, where you can walk through and experience the richness of the mangrove forest and observe coastal wildlife up close.”
Ao Khung Krabaen is more than just a tourist attraction; it is a Royal Development Study Center established under the initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX) to sustainably restore and manage coastal resources, focusing on the integration of forestry and fisheries. This location is thus a fascinating repository of knowledge in natural conservation and career development
The highlight here is the Mangrove Nature Walk Bridge that stretches into the forest, allowing visitors to view various mangrove species like Rhizophora (Red Mangrove), Avicennia (Grey Mangrove), and Sonneratia (Mangrove Apple), as well as observe small mangrove creatures such as mudskippers and fiddler crabs. Additionally, the area features the Ao Khung Krabaen Aquarium, which offers free admission! It includes a small fish tunnel and tanks displaying various marine species, making it an excellent learning resource for families.
Another trip that Thai Tour would like to present is this Klong Kraben Bay travel program. I have combined it with nearby interesting tourist attractions, including Chao Lao Beach, Khung Wiman Bay, Neun Phaya Viewpoint, Laem Singh National Park, Krating Beach, Phairi Pinat Fort, Laem Singh, Red Building, Cockroach Prison, Wat Khao Sukim, Khao Khitchakut National Park, and Krating Waterfall. The program is roughly 2 days 1 night, staying at a comfortable resort near Chao Lao Beach.
All of them are located on the beach, but the seawater here is mixed with a gray-black color along the entire shore.
If you like Balinese-style accommodations and want to play in the sand, you should go to Chanchaolao Beach
If coming as a large family and wanting a sea view room, you should choose the New Travel Beach seaview bungalow, which has 3–4 bedrooms and can accommodate 6–9 people.
If you're focusing on budget prices, Had Saithong is not very expensive. For dinner, I recommend Nong Tuk's restaurant on the way New Travel Beach Or sea pandan, around Chaolao Tosang Beach The recommended foods when traveling to Chanthaburi are grilled squid, grilled seafood, and grilled barramundi, because it is close to the fishing village of Pak Nam. The highlight of this trip, for me, is that I have often walked through mangrove forests around Ranong and Chumphon. At Ao Khung Kraben, there are fish breeding and nursery ponds for sea fish.
