Krating Waterfall is another important and famous natural tourist attraction in Chanthaburi province, situated within the Khao Khitchakut National Park area. The waterfall originates from the Khao Khitchakut mountain range and has a total of 13 tiers. The tiers most commonly visited and easily accessible by tourists are from the 1st to the 9th. The lower tiers feature large, clean, and clear pools that are perfect for swimming and relaxing to beat the heat.

The uniqueness of Krating Waterfall lies in the abundance of flora the banks of the stream are densely covered with plants such as moss and ferns, creating a shady, lush green atmosphere along the walking path. The tiers renowned as the most beautiful are the 8th and 9th tiers, where the water cascades down from steep cliffs, creating beautiful, dispersed mist. Additionally, in the lower areas of the waterfall, there are schools of Pla Pluang fish, a local species of Chanthaburi, swimming in abundance, which is a sign of the clean water and a major draw for visitors

How to Get There
  • Private Car: Travel along Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) into Chanthaburi Province, then turn onto Highway 3249 heading towards Khao Khitchakut District, and continue straight to the entrance of Khao Khitchakut National Park.

  • Public Transport: Take a bus from Chanthaburi city to Khao Khitchakut District, and then hire a local taxi service to the National Park Headquarters.


Travel Tips
  • Best Season to Visit: Mid-October to Mid-February late rainy season to early winter is the period when the waterfall is at its most beautiful and trekking is convenient.
  • Footwear: It is recommended to wear appropriate shoes for hiking and walking in water, as some parts of the waterfall trail can be slippery and rocky.
  • Camping: A campsite is available near the waterfall, with an additional per-person camping fee per night. You should prepare your own sleeping gear.
