Wat Uphai Phatikaram, also known as "Wat Sampokong," is an important temple in Chachoengsao Province. Located on Suphakit Road in Ban Mai Subdistrict, Mueang District, near the 100-Year-Old Ban Mai Market, the temple holds significant historical, religious, and cultural importance for the Thai-Chinese community. It is a Mahayana Buddhist temple, reflecting the influence of Chinese settlers in the Bang Pakong River basin since ancient times.

The temple has a long history, believed to have been built during the late reign of King Rama V, around 1906-1907. It is connected to King Chulalongkorn's visit to the temple, where he performed religious merit-making ceremonies, provided funds for restoration and further construction, and bestowed the name "Wat Uphai Phatikaram" upon the temple. He also named the principal Buddha image "Phra Phuttha Trairatthanayok," a Buddha image known to the public as "Luang Pho To" or "Sampokong."

Inside the temple is a replica of the Luang Pho To statue at Wat Phanan Cheong. Located in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Wat Uphaipatikaram is considered one of the three most important places in Thailand to enshrine Luang Pho To Sampokong, making it a spiritual center for Buddhists and devotees, especially Thai people of Chinese descent who believe that visiting to pay homage will bring good fortune, success in business, and prosperity.

The temple's architecture reflects a harmonious blend of Chinese and Thai art. The main hall resembles a shrine, adorned with beautiful dragon motifs and ancient Chinese elements, while simultaneously maintaining a balanced Thai Buddhist structure. The surrounding atmosphere is peaceful and serene, situated near an old community along the Bang Pakong River, allowing visitors to experience both religious and local cultural aspects firsthand.

Today, Wat Uphaipatikaram remains a sacred site visited by many, particularly on weekends and during important religious festivals. Its connection to the 100-Year-Old Ban Mai Market makes this area a significant cultural tourism destination in Chachoengsao.
