“Home to the revered "Luang Pho To," a 32-meter tall standing Buddha statue that draws worshippers and visitors alike.”
Wat Intharawihan, also known locally as “Wat Bang Khun Phrom Nai,” is situated along Wisut Kasat Road in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district. It is a temple with a rich history dating back to the late Ayutthaya period.
The main highlight is the “Phra Buddha Sri Ariya Mettrai” or “Luang Pho To,” a massive standing Buddha statue measuring over 32 meters in height_. Construction began during the reign of King Rama IV and was completed under King Rama VII, taking more than 60 years.
Inside the temple complex, visitors will find an ancient ordination hall, traditional Thai architectural elements, and a tranquil atmosphere ideal for prayer and meditation. It remains a beloved spiritual site for both locals and tourists seeking blessings and cultural insight.
