“A long, peaceful beach lined with pine trees, perfect for relaxing walks. During low tide, visitors can walk to small nearby islands. It is a great place for watching sunsets and enjoying nature.”
Noppharat Thara Beach is located within the Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park in Krabi Province. It stretches for about 3 kilometers and features white sandy shores lined with tall pine trees, offering natural shade and a peaceful atmosphere ideal for picnics and beach relaxation.
Previously known as Khlong Haeng Beach, the beach was renamed “Noppharat Thara” by King Rama IX in 1998. The name means "beach with sands like gemstones", reflecting the sparkling sand that glitters in the sunlight.
During low tide, visitors can walk across the shallow sea to small islands nearby without needing a boat, a unique experience for nature lovers. Local longtail boats are also available for hire to explore nearby islands like Poda Island, Chicken Island, and the famous sandbar of Thale Waek, usually included in the popular 4-island tours from Ao Nang.
The surrounding area offers basic amenities such as local restaurants, souvenir shops, public toilets, and parking facilities, making it convenient for family trips or group visits.
The beach also plays an important ecological role, serving as a habitat for small marine animals such as fish, crabs, and seagrasses. Visitors are encouraged to respect nature, avoid littering, and not disturb the wildlife or use harmful products like reef-damaging sunscreens.
The best time to visit Noppharat Thara Beach is between November and early May, when the sea is calm, the sky is clear, and the weather is ideal for beach activities and sunset photography. The beach is one of the most scenic and tranquil sunset spots in Krabi.
