IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani is one of the largest exhibition, convention, and entertainment complexes in Southeast Asia, located within Muang Thong Thani in Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, Thailand. The complex originated from the “Muang Thong Thani Sports Complex,” which was developed as a primary venue for the 13th Asian Games in 1998 before being transformed into a world-class exhibition and convention center. The project features more than 140,000 square meters of indoor event space and is designed as a multi-venue complex capable of hosting concerts, international exhibitions, conferences, sporting events, esports tournaments, and large-scale trade fairs simultaneously. Today, it is considered one of Thailand’s most important MICE destinations.
At the center of the complex is IMPACT Arena, a large indoor arena opened in 1998 with a seating capacity of approximately 12,000 people. The venue was designed to accommodate international concerts, live performances, sporting competitions, and entertainment productions. Over the years, it has hosted globally renowned artists including Michael Jackson, Coldplay, Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, as well as numerous K-Pop concerts and fan meetings.Another major highlight is IMPACT Challenger, a massive column-free exhibition hall covering around 60,000 square meters. It is recognized as one of the world’s largest column-free halls, making it ideal for mega exhibitions such as the Thailand International Motor Expo, industrial trade fairs, and technology showcases without visual obstructions from structural pillars.
The complex also includes IMPACT Exhibition Center, which offers more than 47,000 square meters of flexible exhibition and meeting space. The halls can be configured for conventions, corporate meetings, international exhibitions, and large business events of varying scales.
- Beyond event facilities, IMPACT has evolved into a “Lifestyle Event City” integrating hotels, restaurants shopping areas, and leisure spaces.
- Popular attractions include IMPACT Lakefront,a lakeside dining destination popular with concertgoers and visitors, and IMPACT Lakeside, an outdoor recreation and event area.
- The complex is also connected to hotels such as Novotel Bangkok IMPACT and ibis Bangkok IMPACT, providing convenient accommodation for both domestic and international visitors.
Economically, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani plays a major role in Thailand’s MICE industry (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). The venue hosts hundreds of events annually and attracts millions of visitors each year, contributing significantly to tourism, hospitality, transportation, and local businesses in Bangkok and Nonthaburi.Accessibility has further improved with the expansion of Bangkok’s Pink Line monorail system, which now provides easier public transportation access to the Muang Thong Thani area and helps reduce traffic congestion during large-scale concerts and exhibitions.
