“A peaceful beach surrounded by beautiful rock formations, featuring crystal-clear blue water. It offers a private atmosphere perfect for relaxing, enjoying scenic sunrises, and embracing nature.”

Ao Tubtim is a small bay located on the eastern coast of Koh Samet, Rayong Province, situated between Ao Pai and Sai Kaew Beach. The bay has a slightly curved shape, a short beach, and consists of fine white and light yellow sand interspersed with natural rock formations along the shoreline. This gives Ao Tubtim a unique landscape that differs from the more bustling main beaches.

The overall atmosphere of Ao Tubtim is relatively peaceful, as it's not a central hub for commercial tourism like Sai Kaew Beach. Most tourists stay here in bungalows or small resorts located right on the beach, maintaining a natural and private atmosphere. It's ideal for those seeking a slow-paced vacation away from the hustle and bustle of big cities or crowded tourist areas.

In terms of water quality, Ao Tubtim has relatively clear waters during good weather, especially during the dry season from approximately November to April. Underwater visibility near the shore allows for the observation of schools of small fish and rock formations. However, this area doesn't have a complete or dense coral reef like dedicated scuba diving spots, making it more suitable for recreational snorkeling than professional exploratory diving.

Another unique feature of Ao Tubtim is its ability to watch the sunrise, offering a clear view of the open sea horizon on clear days. Facing east into the bay, the morning sunlight reflects off the sea surface, creating a beautiful and tranquil scene. However, during the rainy season or on cloudy days, the view may be obscured by weather conditions.

To reach Ao Tubtim, start from Ban Phe Pier on the Rayong mainland. Then, take a ferry to Na Dan Pier on Koh Samet. From there, use a shared taxi or hire a car on the island to reach Ao Tubtim, which is not far from the main beaches of the island. Access is relatively convenient compared to other bays located at the southernmost tip of the island.

How to Get There
  • From the Phe pier on the mainland, take a ferry to the Koh Samet Na Dan pier. From there, you can rent a motorbike or take a local Songthaew (pickup truck taxi) directly to Ao Tubtim.
