“Marvel at the iconic “Nang Khoi Rock,” a stalagmite resembling a woman holding her child. Admire glittering stalactites and stalagmites throughout the cave, walk across the scenic rock terrace 50 meters high, and pay respect to the Buddha image near the cave’s exit.”

Pha Nang Khoi Cave, also known as Nang Khoi Cave, is a large and beautiful natural limestone cave located on a cliff approximately 50 meters high. In front of the cave lies a spacious rock terrace offering panoramic views of Rong Kwang District. The cave extends horizontally along ground level, with a depth of about 150 meters and an average width_ of 20 meters.

The Legend of Nang Khoi

According to local legend, Princess Aranyanee fled her kingdom with her commoner lover and their newborn child. Upon reaching this cave, her lover went out to find food but was killed by pursuing soldiers. The princess waited faithfully at the cave entrance until she and her child gradually turned into stone. This formation became a symbol of eternal love and unwavering devotion.

Interior Features

Inside, the cave floor is mostly level and accessible, though some sections have uneven levels and small drops. Lighting is installed throughout, allowing safe exploration. The walls are adorned with unique stalactites and stalagmites, some resembling icicles and elongated rock draperies. When illuminated, they shimmer beautifully along the entire length of the cave.

Main Highlight

At the center of the cave stands a large stalagmite formation resembling a woman holding a child, known as “Nang Khoi Rock.” Visitors are advised to stand at a moderate distance to clearly see its shape. Near the wide exit at the far end of the cave, a Buddha image is enshrined, where visitors can pay respects before leaving.
