Khao Khad Views Tower, also known as Panwa Viewpoint, is a distinguished landmark situated atop a high hill in Wichit Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District. Developed by the Wichit Subdistrict Administrative Organization, this site was specifically designed to provide a permanent and accessible recreational space for visitors seeking a unique perspective of the island. The centerpiece of the site is a two-story octagonal observation tower, a rare architectural feature among Phuket’s viewpoints. This design ensures a genuine 360-degree panoramic vista. The upper deck is sheltered by a roof, providing protection from the sun and tropical rain, allowing tourists to sit comfortably on provided benches and immerse themselves in the surroundings regardless of the weather.

Historically, reaching the summit of Khao Khad was a formidable task, as the only access point was a steep, narrow dirt track primarily used by determined locals on foot or rugged motorcycles. Recognizing its potential, the local government upgraded the access with a modern asphalt road and a grand stone staircase. At the base of the climb, visitors are welcomed by two prominent elephant sculptures. The ascent consists of approximately 100 to 150 well-maintained steps, leading to the tower where informative keymaps in both Thai and English are installed. These maps help observers identify the various geographical landmarks and islands visible from the tower, enriching the sightseeing experience with educational context.

The scenery from Khao Khad Views Tower offers an unparalleled look at Southern and Eastern Phuket. Looking westward, one can overlook the vast Chalong Bay, bustling with yachts and speedboats, with the iconic Big Buddha statue standing majestically on Nakkerd Hill as a spiritual centerpiece. To the east, the view encompasses Makham Bay and Panwa Cape, home to vital marine research centers. Beyond the shoreline, the Andaman Sea unfolds to reveal a constellation of islands including Koh Sirey, Koh Lone, and Koh He. On exceptionally clear days, the visibility extends even to the distant silhouettes of the Phi Phi Islands and Koh Yao Yai. Because it remains relatively off the beaten path compared to crowded spots like Promthep Cape, Khao Khad offers a serene atmosphere perfect for nature lovers and landscape photographers.

• From Phuket Town, drive toward Panwa Cape via Sakdidet Road. Turn right onto Route 4023 heading toward Ao Makham. Look for the signs pointing to "Khao Khad Views Tower." The road is steep but paved and accessible by cars and motorcycles right up to the parking area.
