The Botanical Literature Garden is located within the Dong Bang I National Reserved Forest in Nong Phok District, Roi Et Province. This area is an important natural forest in northeastern Thailand, rich in wild plant species, wildlife, and a mixed dry evergreen–deciduous forest ecosystem. The garden was established based on the concept of conserving Thailand’s plant genetic resources while also serving as a learning center for literature and cultural heritage.What makes the Roi Et Botanical Literature Garden unique compared to general botanical gardens is its focus on “plants mentioned in Thai classical literature.” The garden collects and cultivates plant species referenced in major literary works such as the Ramakien, Khun Chang Khun Phaen, Phra Aphai Mani, and Inao.
