“Large white Phra Phrom Phum Palo Buddha statue, 417 Heavenly Stairway, 360° viewpoint overlooking Lam Pao Dam and beautiful sunset views.”

Phu Sing Buddhist Sanctuary (Phra Phrom Phum Palo) is located on the summit of Phu Sing Mountain in Non Buri Subdistrict, Sahatsakhan District, Kalasin Province. It is an important religious site situated on an isolated mountain rising above the surrounding lowland plains near Lam Pao Dam, giving it a distinctive landscape with wide 360-degree panoramic views of communities, agricultural areas, and the vast reservoir stretching to the horizon. The main Buddha image, Phra Phrom Phum Palo, is a large seated Buddha in the Mara-Vijaya posture. It is constructed with reinforced concrete and fully covered with white mosaic tiles, creating a striking appearance. When sunlight reflects off the surface, especially during early morning and late afternoon, the statue appears particularly radiant and majestic, making it one of the province’s most iconic spiritual landmarks.

There are two main ways to reach the summit of Phu Sing Mountain. The first is the “Heavenly Stairway” consisting of 417 steps, which represents a path of faith and devotion. Along the way, there are resting points and shaded areas where visitors can enjoy the natural surroundings. The second option is a paved road that allows vehicles to drive up directly to the upper parking area, making it convenient for elderly visitors or those unable to climb the stairs. At the summit, visitors will find a wide open area with cool breezes throughout the year. The atmosphere is peaceful and suitable for meditation, relaxation, and sightseeing. From this viewpoint, Lam Pao Dam can be seen clearly, especially during sunset when golden light reflects across the water and surrounding hills, creating a highly scenic and popular photography spot.

In addition to its natural beauty, Phu Sing Buddhist Sanctuary serves as a spiritual center for the people of Kalasin. It is used for important Buddhist ceremonies such as Makha Bucha Day, Visakha Bucha Day, and Buddhist Lent Day. It is also a place for merit-making and meditation for both locals and tourists. With its combination of spiritual significance and natural scenery, Phu Sing Buddhist Sanctuary has become one of the key tourist destinations in Kalasin Province, attracting both pilgrims and nature lovers. It represents a harmonious blend of faith, landscape, and cultural identity in the northeastern region of Thailand.
