“Phu Phan Pha Saveuy viewpoint offers panoramic views of vast forests and mountains. It holds historical significance related to King Rama IX. The climate is pleasantly cool, and during the winter season, visitors may see a sea of mist.”

Phasaveuy is an important scenic viewpoint on the Phu Phan mountain range, located within Phu Pha Chuea Forest Park in Kalasin Province, Thailand. It features a natural cliff formation shaped by long-term erosion, creating a viewing terrace that offers wide, uninterrupted views of forests and valleys.Originally, the area was known as “Pha Rang Phueng” (Bee Cliff) due to the presence of wild bee nests in the past. It was later renamed “Pha Saveuy” in remembrance of a significant historical event in 1954, when King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit stopped at this cliff and had a royal meal during their journey. The area sits along a mountain ridge of the Phu Phan range, several hundred meters above sea level, resulting in a pleasantly cool climate compared to surrounding lowlands. The surrounding forests consist mainly of dry dipterocarp and mixed deciduous forest, which remain relatively rich and well-preserved.

Today, Pha Saveuy has been developed into an eco-tourism attraction with viewing platforms, a parking area, a commemorative pavilion, and visitor service points. There are also local community shops selling food and regional products. It is also an important roadside rest stop along the Kalasin–Sakon Nakhon route, making it a convenient place to enjoy the scenery, breathe fresh air, and relax during travel. In some winter days, visitors may experience a sea of mist.

The best travel season is from November to February, when the weather is cool. The rainy season offers lush green scenery, while the summer season provides the clearest long-distance views. Overall, Pha Saveuy combines natural beauty, historical significance, and local community lifestyle in one destination.
