“A famous longan-growing community featuring scenic longan tree tunnels, fresh Green Biaw longan tasting during harvest season, and an authentic riverside agricultural lifestyle.”

Ban Nong Chang Khuen is a fertile riverside agricultural community located along the Ping River and widely recognized as one of Thailand’s highest-quality longan production areas. The nutrient-rich sediment soil deposited by the river creates ideal growing conditions, resulting in large fruits with firm texture and exceptional sweetness.

The village is especially famous for its premium “Green Biaw” longan, characterized by slightly curved fruit shape, thick flesh, crisp bite, and a unique aromatic sweetness. Another notable variety is the “Pink Longan,” which has a subtle rosy tint and smooth, sweet flavor. These varieties are highly valued in both domestic and international markets.

One of the most charming features of the village is its landscape. Nearly every road is surrounded by dense longan orchards, forming natural green tunnels overhead. During harvest season, golden clusters of longan hang low along the roads, creating a unique and picturesque atmosphere rarely found elsewhere.

Beyond agriculture, the community preserves its traditional way of life. Wat Nong Chang Khuen, a historic Lanna-style temple, serves as the spiritual center of the village and reflects the strong cultural ties of local residents.
