One of the beach's most practical advantages is its water depth; unlike other bays on the island, the water here remains deep enough for swimming even during low tide. The seabed is primarily clean sand, ensuring the water retains a brilliant, turquoise clarity throughout the day.

From a marine ecology perspective, Long Beach serves as a strategic hub for snorkeling enthusiasts. At the eastern end of the beach lies shark point "Hin Pa Paeng", a submerged rock formation just a short swim from the shore. This area is a reliable sanctuary for Blacktip Reef Sharks, which are frequently spotted during the early morning and late afternoon. The surrounding shallow reef is also home to diverse marine life, including anemonefish, parrotfish, and occasional sea turtles. This level of biodiversity, accessible directly from the beach without the need for a boat, makes Long Beach unique.
