“Discover the living heritage of Tai Phuan blacksmiths, shop for handmade knives and durable farming tools, and purchase factory-direct teakwood furniture from a vibrant household industry village.”

Ban Rong Fong are descendants of the Tai Phuan, who migrated together with communities such as Ban Thung Hong. In the past, nearly every household operated a blacksmith workshop, earning the village a reputation as one of Thailand’s finest producers of knives and sickles. Their success comes from a secret tempering technique passed down through generations, ensuring exceptional sharpness and durability.

Signature Community Products

Ironwork:

Hand-forged machetes, utility knives, sickles, hoes, spades, and agricultural tools, distinguished by long-lasting sharpness, tough steel texture, and resistance to breakage.

Woodwork:

As part of Phrae’s teakwood heritage, Ban Rong Fong has developed into a production center for functional teakwood furniture, ranging from minimalist designs to single-slab teak pieces, including beds, tables, cabinets, and home décor.

Economic Significance

Ban Rong Fong is more than a tourist destination—it is a household-industry hub that drives Phrae’s local economy. Visitors can purchase products at factory prices and often meet the actual craftsmen who create each piece.
