Ironwork:

Hand-forged machetes, utility knives, sickles, hoes, spades, and agricultural tools, distinguished by long-lasting sharpness, tough steel texture, and resistance to breakage.

Woodwork:

As part of Phrae’s teakwood heritage, Ban Rong Fong has developed into a production center for functional teakwood furniture, ranging from minimalist designs to single-slab teak pieces, including beds, tables, cabinets, and home décor.

• By Car: From Phrae city center, take Highway 1101 toward Ban Thin. After passing the Thung Hong commercial area, you will enter Rong Fong Subdistrict. The village is easily recognized by the rows of teak furniture shops and blacksmith workshops lining both sides of the road.

• Popular Souvenirs: Hiking knives or small kitchen knives—portable, practical, and superior in quality to mass-produced items.

• Hands-on Experience: Visitors may politely ask to observe blacksmithing in home workshops; locals are welcoming and happy to share their knowledge.

• Suggested Route: Ban Thung Hong (textiles) → Ban Rong Fong (iron & wood crafts) → Ban Pong Sri (antiques) → Wat Phra That Thin Thaen Luang (temple visit).
