“A two-tier limestone waterfall with clear water, swimmable natural pool, shaded arboretum setting, and convenient access near the Phrae–Nan highway.”
Huai Rong Waterfall is under the supervision of the Huai Rong Arboretum, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation. It is one of the most well-known natural attractions in Rong Kwang District, distinguished by its limestone mountain landscape that keeps the water exceptionally clear.
Physical Characteristics:
The waterfall is approximately 15 meters high and divided into two main tiers. Water flows over a wide limestone cliff into a natural pool below. Even during the rainy season, the water remains clear and free from mud. The surrounding area is beautifully landscaped with shaded seating areas for relaxation.
Nature Study Activities:
Visitors can enjoy swimming in the natural pool and walking along a short nature trail featuring educational signs about native trees such as teak and other local species. It serves as an outdoor classroom for students and nature enthusiasts.
Family Picnic Spot:
On weekends, families gather here for picnics by the stream. The atmosphere is calm and typically 2–3 degrees cooler than surrounding areas, making it a refreshing stop before continuing the journey to Nan Province.
Facilities and Services:
The arboretum provides clean restrooms, community-run food stalls, parking areas, and on-site staff for safety, ensuring a comfortable and secure visit.
