“Marvel at a grand water curtain hidden beneath ancient trees and explore headwater forest trails rich with the biodiversity of Eastern Thailand.”

Khao Salad Dai Waterfall is a hidden jewel located in Mueang Trat It is a vital part of the headwater ecosystem in the Banthat Mountain Range. What makes this waterfall special is that it remains largely undisturbed by commercial tourism, allowing the surrounding forest to stay dense and lush throughout the year. Upon arriving at the waterfall area, you will feel an immediate drop in temperature and a refreshing humidity that revitalizes the senses. This forest acts as a giant lung, providing pure, filtered air for visitors who trek in to witness its beauty firsthand.

The most striking physical feature of the waterfall is the wide stone courtyard that receives the water cascading from a steep height_. Especially during the high-water season, the stream expands into a massive white curtain that stands out against the deep green foliage. The rocks here feature fascinating geological patterns, ranging from smooth, rounded boulders to complex cliff faces. Parts of the stone surfaces are claimed by thick moss and ferns, resembling a vibrant green natural carpet. This creates a powerful and beautiful landscape typical of one of the most fertile headwater forests in Eastern Thailand.

Interesting activities beyond admiring the falls include exploring the surrounding ecosystem. The area around Khao Salad Dai Waterfall is home to various rare plant species and local medicinal herbs. For those who enjoy observing small creatures, you will find exotic insects and colorful forest butterflies that are rarely seen in big cities. The water here is exceptionally clean and pure; in some spots, natural pools are so clear that you can see mountain crabs and small fish swimming among the crevices. Sitting quietly and listening to the sounds of nature here is a perfect form of meditation and "Forest Bathing" (Shinrin-yoku).

In addition to its natural beauty, this site is an excellent example of community based tourism. Residents of Subdistrict Huai Raeng deeply cherish and strictly maintain the cleanliness of the area. Visiting here supports the sustainable conservation of natural resources. Tourists can learn about the relationship between the forest and the way of life of Trat people, who have relied on the waters from Khao Salad Dai for agriculture and daily living for generations. The simple and friendly nature of the local community will leave you feeling warmer and more impressed than a visit to a typical tourist attraction.

With its authentic and untouched beauty, Khao Salad Dai Waterfall is a destination that meets the needs of those seeking true adventure and relaxation. Whether you are a nature lover looking to study forest biology or a family seeking a light adventure together, a trip here provides precious memories and shows you another side of Trat Province  that is as beautiful as its blue seas.
