“An aquarium showcasing the marine life of Koh Sichang. Managed by Chulalongkorn University, it combines historical buildings with modern science.”

Chonlathassana Sathan Museum, or the Koh Sichang Aquarium, is located on the beach inside Phra Chudadhuj Palace. It is part of the Aquatic Resources Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University. This center researches marine life and teaches people about the ocean. The building is near the sea, so visitors can see both the indoor fish tanks and the real ocean outside.

Inside the museum, there are many interesting areas. The main highlight is the Aquarium Zone. It shows local sea animals from around Koh Sichang, such as colorful reef fish and unique sea creatures. There is also an exhibit about marine plastic waste. This part teaches families and children how to protect the ocean from pollution.

Beyond the fish tanks, the museum serves as a Coral Hatchery and Nursery Center. This is a key site for restoring coral reefs in the Gulf of Thailand. Visitors can learn about asexual coral reproduction and the breeding of rare species like Sea Snails and the Blackfinned Anemonefish, which are released back into the wild. These exhibits use simple methods to make marine science fun and easy for everyone to understand.

The area around the museum is quiet and shady with many large trees along the beach. Visitors can enjoy the museum and then relax by the sea. This site also connects to other historical places in the old palace, such as Asdang Bridge and the royal wooden houses. It is a perfect mix of scientific knowledge and beautiful history.
