“Crystal clear waterfall in lush jungle, offering a serene and private atmosphere. Perfect for relaxing in untouched nature via a shaded, rich forest trail in Krabi.”

Hin Phoeng Waterfall is located in Moo 8, Ban Hin Phoeng, Khlong Phon Sub-district, Khlong Thom District, Krabi. It is a natural waterfall formed by water sources originating from mountainous terrain characterized by peat swamp forests and tropical rainforest ecosystems. The water flows down steep cliffs and rock formations, creating a multi-tiered waterfall system. According to local administrative sources, the waterfall consists of approximately three levels, with a high cliff serving as the primary source of the cascading stream

One of the defining characteristics of Hin Phoeng Waterfall is the way water flows over large natural rock formations, forming a series of small pools along the stream. These pools provide suitable spots for relaxation and light recreation. The water remains clear and flows throughout the year, supported by the surrounding watershed forest, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the ecological balance of the area. This rich environment supports diverse plant species and wildlife typical of southern Thailand’s tropical forests

Geographically, the waterfall is situated within a dense tropical forest zone near the boundary between Krabi and Trang provinces, an area known for its high biodiversity. Visitors traveling to the waterfall will experience a natural trail that passes through streams, shaded forest paths, and a variety of native vegetation. The main access route requires a walk of approximately 400 meters from the nearest entry point, although extended exploration routes within the forest may reach distances of over 2 kilometers

Historically, Hin Phoeng Waterfall was first discovered around 1965 following reports from local villagers. Government officials later surveyed the site and gradually improved access paths for visitors. Despite these developments, the waterfall remains largely undeveloped compared to major tourist attractions, preserving its natural and local character

Although it is not widely recognized as a major tourist destination in Krabi, Hin Phoeng Waterfall offers a unique appeal through its tranquility and authenticity. It is particularly suitable for eco-tourism, nature study, and visitors seeking a peaceful retreat. The surrounding forest remains an important watershed area, contributing to the ecological sustainability of the region and providing opportunities for environmental observation and exploration
