“An exotic sloping limestone waterfall offering untouched tranquility within a lush watershed forest, densely covered in rich green mosses—a perfect retreat for true nature lovers.”

Tad Pranba Waterfall is a natural waterfall located in the community forest area of Khok Mon Subdistrict, Nam Nao District, Phetchabun Province. The area is characterized by mountainous terrain and natural watershed forests of the upper Phetchabun mountain range. The surrounding area remains highly pristine, with a mix of mixed deciduous and dry evergreen forests, providing a shady and relatively humid environment around the waterfall throughout the year.

The waterfall is a single-tiered formation created by the flow of a stream over a natural rock formation. The sloping rock surface causes the water to spread out over the rock rather than cascading down a high cliff like a large waterfall. This type of waterfall is often found in areas with hard rock layers and long-term water erosion, resulting in a beautiful natural geological feature.

The surrounding forest is relatively intact, with native vegetation including trees, ferns, and mosses, characteristic of the high humidity areas typical of watershed areas in this region. The tranquility of the area makes it ideal for nature tourism, relaxation, and studying the forest ecosystem.

Generally, the best time to visit is during the rainy season and into the early winter. During the dry season, the water flow is relatively consistent and the surrounding nature is more lush than during the summer. However, the water quality and beauty of the waterfall may change depending on the weather each year.

Access to the waterfall area requires using local routes through villages and community roads, some of which may be unpaved or natural paths. Therefore, caution is advised when traveling, and the route conditions should be checked before entering the area, as there are no large facilities to support tourists directly at the waterfall.

How to Get There
  • From Nam Nao district town, take Highway 2216 heading toward Khok Mon Subdistrict. Upon entering Khok Mon, look for the intersection sign leading into Huai Lat Village. Turn into the rural community road (some sections are narrow dirt or gravel tracks). A pickup truck or a four-wheel-drive vehicle is highly recommended during the wet season. You can also ask locals or the Khok Mon Subdistrict Administrative Organization for road updates before driving in.
