“Crystal-clear emerald pools amidst lush forests feature beautiful limestone cascades. This tranquil atmosphere is perfect for swimming, relaxing, and capturing photos in pure, pristine nature.”
Sa Nang Manora Forest Park is located within the Khao Toy and Khao Nang Hong National Forest Reserve, covering approximately 180 rai. The terrain consists mainly of limestone hills and dense tropical rainforest, which naturally give rise to small streams and waterfalls feeding into the park’s water system.
The main highlight is the “Sa Nang Manora” natural pool, formed by cascading waterfalls flowing over limestone layers. The mineral-rich water gives the pools their distinctive emerald-green color. The pools are naturally divided into different levels, each traditionally named according to local folklore, including Sa Klang and Sa Noi, reflecting the legend of Phra Suthon and Manora.
The surrounding ecosystem is a rich tropical rainforest with high biodiversity. Visitors can encounter various native plant species, including rare flora, as well as diverse wildlife and bird species. This makes the park suitable not only for leisure but also for ecological study and birdwatching.
A short and well-maintained nature trail is available within the park, allowing visitors to explore the forest, waterfalls, and natural surroundings up close. The trail is relatively easy and suitable for all ages, including families with children.
The best time to visit is during the rainy season through early winter (May to December), when the waterfalls are at their fullest and the forest is lush and vibrant. However, the park is open year-round, and during the dry season, the water remains clear and ideal for swimming.
How to Get There
- From Phang Nga town, take Highway No. 4 (Phet Kasem Road) towards Nop Pring for about 4 km. Turn right at the sign to the forest park and continue for another 4 km to reach the park entrance.
