“Soak in the clear and refreshing natural pools that are clean and safe, and stroll along paths showcasing the lush vegetation on both sides.”

Suan Ai Waterfall is a relaxing spot that reflects the harmonious lifestyle between the people of Chawang District and nature. The charm of this waterfall lies in its "raw" character and simplicity. The water flows over gently tiered rock formations, creating emerald-green pools that are perfect for cooling off and swimming.

The surrounding area is embraced by famous fruit orchards of Nakhon Si Thammarat, such as mangosteen, durian, and sator beans. During fruit season, visitors can also experience the fragrant atmosphere and traditional gardening lifestyle of local residents. The water flows strongest and remains especially clear after the rainy season, while the air stays cool throughout the day, often eliminating the need for air conditioning.

Most visitors come as families, bringing food to enjoy together by the stream (picnic style) and allowing children to play safely in areas that are not too deep. Beyond the beauty of the waterfall itself, the surrounding trails are suitable for short nature walks to observe a variety of insects and bird species.

Although it is not a tourist site with luxurious facilities, Suan Ai Waterfall delivers pure happiness through the untouched beauty of nature to every visitor.

How to Get There
  • By private car: From Nakhon Si Thammarat city, take Highway No. 4015 (Lan Saka – Chandi route) toward Chawang District. Upon reaching La-ai Subdistrict, there are signs directing you to the waterfall area and Suan Ai Village. The road is easily accessible and shaded along both sides.
  • By public transport: Take a minivan on the Nakhon Si Thammarat – Chandi – Chawang route and get off at Chawang District or Chandi Market. Then it is recommended to hire a local vehicle or motorcycle taxi to continue to the waterfall, which is not far away.

Travel Tips
  • Accessible almost year-round, with January – June being the best period for clear water and pleasant weather.

  • It is recommended to bring your own food and drinking water, as shops inside the area may be limited.
