“Experience the sacred atmosphere of ancient inscriptions carved over a thousand years ago and study moral teachings reflecting the concept of virtue and happiness in society.”

Huap Khao Chong Khoi Inscription is one of the most significant archaeological and historical sites in southern Thailand. The inscription was discovered in 1979 by local villagers while collecting forest products in the valley area. It is carved on a natural sandstone slab approximately 1.6 meters wide and nearly 7 meters long, located along a small watercourse descending from the mountain.

The inscription is written in Pallava script using the Sanskrit language and is divided into three sections. The most well-known passage conveys the message “Where virtuous people reside, happiness and prosperity will follow,” reflecting moral and religious principles that remain relevant today.

This inscription provides evidence of cultural and religious influence from South India around 1,400 years ago and highlights the importance of this area as part of an ancient trans-peninsular route. The surrounding environment remains lush and tranquil, with pathways and steps arranged to allow visitors to access the site. Visiting Huap Khao Chong Khoi Inscription offers insight into early regional history while experiencing a natural landscape that closely resembles its ancient setting.
