“The waterfall has 7 tiers. Levels 1–4 are easy to access with stone steps. The highlight is “Ton Lan Sai,” a natural swimming area with clear water all year. There is a Boripat inscription and on-site staff ensuring safety.”
Namtok Boripat Forest Park in Rattaphum, Songkhla, is one of two main waterfalls in the district, formed by the Banthat Mountain range (locally called Khao Kaew). It is located about 20 km east of Rattaphum District Office, at km 34 of Yantrakan Khamthon Road, Moo 10, Khao Phra Subdistrict. Managed under the Department of National Parks, it has been developed with paved road access and parking for visitors.
The waterfall flows all year, with peak water volume from October to December. It features over 10 cascading tiers, with easy walking access up to level 5, while higher levels require climbing. The lower basin is a large, clear natural pool suitable for swimming and bathing in a clean, pollution-free environment.
Formerly known as Khlong Lam Rian Waterfall, it was renamed “Boripat” after Prince Boripat Sukhumphan visited between 1926–1928 and inscribed his name on the cliff. The area is shaded, lush, and rich in biodiversity, with birds and various plant species, and is continuously protected by park staff with strict conservation rules.
The park is highly recommended for visitors to Rattaphum, especially from June to September when seasonal fruits like rambutan, durian, and mangosteen are sold along the route at affordable prices.
How to Get There
- By Car: From Songkhla city, take Highway 406 (Rattaphum–Satun) for about 52 km. The waterfall is located around km 35–36, then turn left and continue for about 800 meters. The road is paved and easily accessible.
