“The main highlight of Crocodile Island is its abundant coral reefs and sea anemones, allowing visitors to experience the underwater world up close through snorkeling and scuba diving.”
Crocodile Island is a small island located about 11 kilometers from Thung Wua Laen Beach. It is a limestone island with small gravel beaches and rocky shores. The island gets its name from its shape, which resembles a giant crocodile from a distance. Crocodile Island is included in Chumphon’s marine tourism routes, often combined in diving packages with Koh Ngam Noi and Koh Ngam Yai.
The surrounding waters feature a rich and diverse underwater environment. Divers can find soft corals and colorful sea anemones, which serve as habitats for various fish species such as clownfish, butterflyfish, grouper, and large giant clams. This makes it an excellent snorkeling spot for all experience levels. For scuba diving, depths range from 5 to 30 meters, with underwater rocks that provide shelter for a variety of marine life, making diving here an exciting experience.
Crocodile Island also offers a sense of closeness to nature and tranquility, as visitors can enjoy panoramic sea views with minimal disturbance. Its convenient location makes it suitable for half-day or full-day trips, often combining snorkeling, scuba diving, and underwater photography.
Other popular activities include relaxing on the boat amid the blue sea, taking photos with crocodile-shaped rocks, and learning about the marine ecosystem from local guides knowledgeable about corals and marine species.
