Nam Phut Na Lao is a large natural spring located in Thung Na Lao Subdistrict, Khon San District, Chaiyaphum Province. It is formed by underground water pressure accumulated within layers of rock and sand beneath the earth’s surface. The water rises naturally through cracks in the rock, creating several spring pools scattered throughout the community forest area. The water is exceptionally clear with a slight bluish-green tint from natural minerals, and remains cool throughout the year, even during the hot season. One of the most distinctive features of Nam Phut Na Lao is the remarkable clarity of the water, allowing visitors to clearly see the sandy bottom, pebbles, and submerged rocks beneath the surface. In the early morning, the calm water beautifully reflects the surrounding trees along the stream. Water from the springs flows together into a natural stream that runs continuously year-round, making this area a popular relaxation spot for both locals and tourists.

The ecosystem surrounding the springs remains rich and well-preserved. Large trees line both sides of the stream, providing shade and maintaining moisture in the area, creating a cool and refreshing atmosphere even during the daytime. Aquatic plants, small fish, and various native species can also be found here, making the site an important natural resource for both agriculture and tourism within the local community.Over time, the local community has developed the area into an eco-tourism destination while preserving as much of the original environment as possible. Swimming zones, resting areas, and walkways along the stream have been organized for visitor convenience. Bamboo platforms, shaded huts, local food stalls, beverage shops, and inner tube rental services are also available, allowing tourists to comfortably spend the entire day relaxing by the water.

During the summer season, especially from March to May, Nam Phut Na Lao becomes particularly lively as it is one of Chaiyaphum’s most popular natural swimming destinations. Many visitors come with their families to relax, swim, and enjoy local food by the stream. In the rainy season, the surrounding landscape becomes lush and green with increased water flow, making it ideal for nature sightseeing and photography.Although Nam Phut Na Lao has become increasingly popular, the local community continues to promote responsible tourism. Visitors are encouraged to help maintain cleanliness by avoiding littering and refraining from using chemicals in the water, helping preserve the beauty and clarity of this natural spring for future generations.

• By Car: From Chaiyaphum city, take Highway No. 201 toward Chum Phae District, then turn onto Highway No. 12 (Mittraphap Road) heading to Khon San District. Upon reaching Khon San, continue to the area behind Khon San Wittayakom School and follow Rural Road No. 4129 for a short distance to reach the parking area of Nam Phut Na Lao.
