“A single-tier waterfall with impressive height (around 80 meters), surrounded by pristine tropical rainforest.”

Heo Lom Waterfall is located deep within the forest of Pathio Wildlife Sanctuary, Pathio District, Chumphon Province, an area rich in dense tropical rainforest. The name "Heo Lom" reflects the waterfall’s characteristic of plunging into a deep, steep gorge. This single-tier waterfall is magnificent, with water cascading from a cliff approximately 80 meters high (some sources state nearly 100 meters), splashing onto rocks below and creating cool, refreshing mist throughout the area.

At the base of the waterfall is a large, deep pool where visitors can safely swim and enjoy the water. The surrounding forest remains largely untouched, making the journey to Heo Lom Waterfall an ecological adventure. Visitors must hike a short trail through the forest to reach the waterfall, offering the chance to observe native plants and hear wildlife sounds along the way. Heo Lom Waterfall is not only a spot for recreation and swimming but also a symbol of the natural richness of Pathio District, which is also known for rafting activities in the Pathio River.

How to Get There
  • By private car: Drive toward Pak Song Subdistrict, about 16 km from Pathio town. After reaching the Pak Song community area, follow signs to the waterfall. Some sections may be rough dirt roads. Park at the designated area, then hike 500–800 meters along the forest trail to reach the waterfall.

  • By public transport: Take a bus to Pathio District. Then arrange local transport or a rented car with driver to enter the wildlife sanctuary and start the hiking trail to the waterfall. The route is remote and challenging.

Travel Tips
  • The rainy season (June to October) is when the waterfall is at its fullest and most spectacular. Exercise caution with slippery paths and swimming safety.

  • Use a high-powered car or pickup truck due to steep or dirt roads. Bring proper hiking shoes and insect repellent.

  • Contact local guides or the sanctuary staff for updated trail conditions and safety information.

Entrance Fee:

  • No entrance fee to the waterfall (free), but a small fee may apply for parking or guided tours.

Opening Hours:

  • Open 24 hours (natural site), but visit during daylight hours only (approximately 08:00 – 17:00) for safety in the forest area.
