Wat Khao Tham is a monastery located on a high hill on Koh Phangan, surrounded by lush nature. It offers a shady, peaceful atmosphere and cool air, ideal for those seeking mental relaxation and an escape from the hustle and bustle.

The temple is famous as an International Meditation Center, welcoming both Thais and foreigners to practice meditation amidst pristine nature. It helps to cultivate calmness, concentration, and true mental balance.

Inside the temple, there are sacred objects to worship, such as a replica of the Buddha's footprint, a Phra Buddha Pang Palilai statue, and a Nang Thorani statue, as well as rocks and cave areas arranged in harmony with nature, adding serenity, sacredness, and suitability for meditation.

A key highlight is the viewpoint pavilion on a high rock, which offers a panoramic view of Ban Tai Bay, the coastline, and Koh Samui. Especially during sunrise and sunset, the golden light makes the scenery particularly beautiful.

Behind the temple, there are natural cave-like rock shelters, a quiet corner ideal for sitting in meditation, walking meditation, or resting the mind amidst the sounds of nature. This makes Wat Khao Tham a place that blends faith, nature, and tranquility perfectly.

• By Car / Motorcycle: From Thong Sala Pier, head towards Haad Rin (Ban Tai Road) for approximately 5–7 km.
  Turn left following the “Wat Khao Tham” sign and continue uphill for about 1 km.

• Caution: The ascent is quite steep with hairpin turns. Use a vehicle in good condition and drive carefully.

• Dress politely, covering shoulders and knees.

• Maintain silence and avoid loud noises.

• The best time to visit is 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.

• Wear comfortable shoes as there are slopes and rocks.

• Try meditating to truly experience the atmosphere.
