“Than Sadet Waterfall features royal inscriptions of King Rama V, VII, and IX on granite rocks, a 3-km stream flowing to the sea, lush rainforest surroundings, and access to the peaceful Than Sadet Beach.”
Than Sadet Waterfall is one of the most historically and naturally significant attractions on Koh Phangan. The waterfall flows over large granite boulders, forming multiple tiers that stretch down toward the eastern coastline of the island.
Its uniqueness lies in the royal inscriptions of Thai monarchs, especially King Rama V, who visited the site 14 times and left his royal initials engraved on the rocks. King Rama VII and King Rama IX also followed this tradition, making the site both sacred and historically meaningful.
Surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, the area remains pristine and tranquil within the national park. Visitors can walk along short nature trails beside the stream, relax in clear natural pools, and enjoy the calming sounds of flowing water and forest wildlife.
At the end of the stream lies Than Sadet Beach, a quiet crescent-shaped beach with clear waters and a serene atmosphere—perfect for relaxation after exploring the waterfall.
Than Sadet Waterfall is more than just a natural attraction; it is a destination where history, serenity, and untouched nature come together in one remarkable place.
