Khao Tha Phra Temple is a temple of deep spiritual importance to the people of Chai Nat Province. It is located at the foot of Khao Tha Phra Hill, also known locally as “Khao Khayai,” within the subdistrict bearing the same name. The spiritual highlight of the temple is the replica Buddha footprint, enshrined at the top of the hill. Each year during the full moon of the third lunar month (Makha Bucha Day), a grand annual festival is held where devotees climb the hill to pay homage and apply gold leaf to the sacred footprint. This long-standing tradition reflects the unity, devotion, and cultural continuity of the local community.

Inside the ordination hall and viharn, visitors can admire intricate mural paintings depicting scenes from the life of the Buddha and the Ten Jataka Tales. These artworks represent valuable examples of Thai Buddhist art and craftsmanship, worthy of preservation and study.

Best Visiting Time:

• Arrive in the early morning (07:00 - 09:00 AM) or late afternoon (04:30 - 05:30 PM) to catch the sunrise or sunset and avoid the midday heat.
