• From Sakon Nakhon city, take Highway 22 (towards Udon Thani) until you reach Phang Khon district. Then turn left onto Highway 227 (Phang Khon-Warichaphum). Drive straight for about 5 kilometers, and you will see a sign indicating the entrance to Nam Oun Dam on the right.

• For stunning photos, it's recommended to arrive at the dam between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM. The sunlight reflects off the water in a golden-orange hue, contrasting beautifully with the Phu Phan mountain range, and the weather won't be too hot for a leisurely stroll.

• Must-try dishes include "Steamed Tilapia with Jaew Sauce" or "Grilled Tilapia." The tilapia here is raised in deep-water cages within the dam, resulting in sweet, firm flesh without any muddy taste. Another must-try is the flavorful "Tom Yum Pla Kang" (spicy fish soup).
