“Experience the wisdom of the Kra-tuk loom, producing tightly woven, colorfast, and non-shrinking fabrics. Discover exclusive local patterns such as Dok Bunnak, Chalawan Scale, and Bua Si Fai, all crafted as OTOP 5-Star textiles that were once exported to Europe.”
Ban Pa Dang Weaving Group represents the cultural pride and deep-rooted identity of the Thai Phuan community, who settled in Taphan Hin District and passed down their handweaving knowledge through generations.
Thai Phuan Lifestyle and the Kra-tuk Loom
The heart of Ban Pa Dang textiles lies in the traditional Kra-tuk loom, a hand-operated weaving tool that increases efficiency while maintaining meticulous craftsmanship. Every fabric piece remains 100% handmade, reflecting patience, skill, and cultural dedication.
Fabric Quality
Most products are woven from cotton blended with silk, resulting in fabrics that are soft, durable, breathable, and vibrant in color. The designs balance modern aesthetics with the timeless charm of traditional Thai textiles.
Patterns Inspired by Phichit Legends
Alongside classic motifs such as vine and geometric patterns, the group has developed designs inspired by local identity, including Chalawan Scale Pattern, derived from the legendary crocodile of Phichit folklore, and Dok Bunnak Pattern, symbolizing the province’s official flower.
Cultural Learning Experience
Visitors can observe the entire weaving process, from thread preparation and dyeing to Mudmee tying and loom weaving. This hands-on cultural experience allows visitors to truly appreciate the craftsmanship and value behind every thread.
