“Pay homage to the grand Phra Phuttha Metta Buddha image and Somdej Phra Kodom Chao Bodhisattva amid a serene forest garden cultivated through faith, visit the Chaloem Rajkumari Library, and experience a model meditation center renowned for its peaceful and shaded environment.”

Wat Thap Khlo, also known as Bodhisattva Park, was originally an open rice field before being transformed through faith and dedication. Under the guidance of Phra Khru Wisutthiphawanakhun (Luang Pho Phra Maha Kosol) and with the collective effort of devoted disciples, numerous trees—especially Bodhi trees—were continuously planted. Over time, the once-barren land gradually evolved into a lush, thriving forest rich in natural vitality and spiritual significance, giving rise to the name “Bodhisattva Park.”

Suan Phra Phothisat Meditation Center and Spiritual Practice

Within the temple grounds is Suan Phra Phothisat Meditation Center, located in Thap Khlo Subdistrict, Thap Khlo District, Phichit Province. It serves as a place for Dhamma practice under the Maha Nikaya order, with a strong emphasis on Vipassana meditation and monastic discipline. The surrounding environment is remarkably calm and natural, enveloped by Bodhi forests, tall trees, and colorful ornamental plants—making it ideal for mental cultivation, inner reflection, and genuine spiritual retreat.

Sacred Objects and Important Religious Structures

Wat Thap Khlo enshrines Phra Phuttha Metta, a large golden stucco Buddha image that stands gracefully as a landmark visible from afar and serves as the spiritual focal point for devotees. The temple also houses Phra Boromma Chakradusit Borommathat (Boromma Chakra Stupa), containing sacred Buddha relics, situated on a raised mound crowned with a Dharmachakra flagpole. In addition, a large traditional Thai-style ordination hall (Ubosot) functions as the main venue for Buddhist ceremonies and religious observances.

Center of Learning and Social Role

The temple has been officially designated as Phichit Province Meditation Center No. 1 and is recognized as a model institution for the care of ill monks (Kilanupatthaka). Within the grounds is the Chaloem Rajkumari Public Library, also known as the Siam Boromrajakumari Library, along with a royal reception pavilion. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony on 1 February 1993, underscoring the site’s national, cultural, and educational importance.

Atmosphere and Facilities

The overall atmosphere of Wat Thap Khlo is exceptionally peaceful, shaded, and close to nature, accompanied by the sounds of birds and gentle breezes flowing through the Bodhi forest. It is highly suitable for Vipassana meditation, spiritual retreats, and mental relaxation.
